I became a grandmother at the age of 34 — life did not prepare me for this

The mother of two children is getting used to a new role.

At the age of 34, she became a grandmother.

And although a young woman likes to babysit her grandson, the word “grandmother” is forbidden in her family.

So Rosie Morant from Edinburgh was not at all happy to learn that she would become a grandmother.

After all, at the time of the birth of her grandson, Rosie was only 34 years old.

Last November, her 19-year-old daughter Morgan gave birth to a son.

“I knew I’d always be younger than most grandparents, but I didn’t think it would happen so soon.

I was afraid and had no idea how I would be introduced to my grandson.

But I definitely refuse to be called a grandmother.”

Rosie really does not look like an average grandmother at all: all in tattoos, with piercings on her face.

And the woman looks younger than her years.

It is not surprising that on playgrounds Rosie is mistaken for the mother of her grandson.

However, Rosie herself did not delay motherhood at the time either — she gave birth to a daughter when she was 16 years old.

The girl broke up with the father of her child even before she found out about the pregnancy.

However, the expectant teenage mother decided to leave the baby and raise him alone.

“I even continued to study at school, where there was a department for young mothers with a nursery for babies,” says Rosie.

Unfortunately, the teenage mother did not receive any special support from the family.

Therefore, now she is trying to help her daughter in every possible way, knowing what she is going through right now.

“My child always knows that she can talk to me, ask me for help,” says Rosie, “I like to babysit my grandson.

I had a baby myself not so long ago, so I still remember how to take care of babies.

And although I was nervous about my daughter’s pregnancy and my new status, now I am happy to play such an important role in my grandson’s life — the role of a grandmother.”
