Alex and her husband Mark from the British Derby quickly got used to the strange hair of their youngest daughter, Laila Grace. But when the girl turned four years old, and her hair began to grow at an amazing pace, they became worried.
Then it turned out that the little British woman has a rare syndrome, which is popularly called the syndrome of uncombed hair. With it, the hair grows without stopping, and because of the peculiar texture, it is simply impossible to untangle them.
Such hair has a non-standard rod shape. In a normal situation, the rod is round, and in the baby from Derby and other people suffering from this disease, it resembles a triangle or a heart.
Every interaction with a comb or an ordinary comb brought the girl great pain. Therefore, brushing quickly began to lead to hysteria. Laila Grace is now nine years old. It took her a long time to accept and love her hair.
“She sometimes even hugs her hair, showing how much she values it. The kids at school just adore them, and all the older guys don’t get tired of reminding her that this hairstyle is her thing,” Alex said.
Doctors believe that over time the hair will become more manageable. Maybe one day Laila Grace will even be able to put them down, like the other girls and her older sister Ivona. By the way, she was born a completely ordinary child.
