The story of a strange friendship between a big dog and a little girl

When Ivy and Yogi’s Dogue de Bordeaux first met, they were both puppies.
Even after many years, they were still best friends.

Even though they are very different in size, a 4-year-old girl and an
88-pound dog love each other today.

Four years ago, the Martin family got a Dogue de Bordeaux puppy when it
was 10 weeks old. The parents gave Yogi to their daughter Ivy when she
was only five months old, and now the two can’t live without each other.
This story took place in the town of Milford in the United States.

The girl’s mother said that it was clear from the start that the puppy and
Ivy were close: “They were both little kids and spent all their time together
while the older kids were at school.

Yogi might think that Ivy is his sister. He only slept next to her, no matter
where we took him. “Ivy would sometimes fall asleep while lying on top of Yogi,”
says Chloe, Ivy’s mother.

The brave dog always looked out for his little mistress. When a stranger came to
the house, Yogi ran straight to the girl to protect her. It’s still going on.
Ivy has had him for four years, and he’s still her best friend and loyal protector.

Yogi is a kind giant, even though he is big and looks kind of scary. In addition
to Ivy, the family has three other young children: Lola, 8, Harlow, 7, and Indy, 2.
The parents say that as long as Yogi is around, they don’t worry at all about the
safety of the children.

“He may look like a bad guy, but he’s actually a very kind and loving person,”
the owner says.

Most people’s feelings about a dog this size are clear: on walks, people walk around
Yogi and take their kids away from him, but Chloe says that his family has
full trust in the dog.

“Many people thought Yogi was a pit bull and yelled that putting a muzzle on
him wouldn’t hurt. But he is a very good person. When it comes to dogs being bred, a
lot depends on their owners. If you teach the animal the right way,
it will grow up to be harmless.

Yogi loves to play with the little mistress and puts up with her little quirks
like a true friend. Children’s pranks on a dog are always played with iron patience.
For example, if its claws are painted pink and it’s dressed up in costumes,
the “doctor” checks on its health at an impromptu reception.
