Kolya’s family lived in a remote Siberian village. His boy had a single and very unusual friend, a gray wolf. The wolf got to them by accident. When Kolya was born, the neighbor brought a cub as a gift. On such a day, the parents did not refuse, they accepted. Of course, no one could have imagined that a real wolf would grow out of this cub. And even more so that in the future he will save the life of their son.
Time passed, Kolya and Gray grew up, they became real friends, they were always together. One autumn, on the mom’s birthday, guests came to the house. The gray was locked in the barn, so that he wouldn’t suddenly cause trouble. Kolya was very upset, because he just wanted to play with his friend. Offended by his parents, the boy ran into the forest. Only in the afternoon the parents understood that the boy is not at home. They immediately began to search, ran all over the village, called, but he was nowhere to be found. Only the old mushroom picker said that he allegedly saw a boy in the forest, but he couldn’t see well anymore, so it’s not accurate.
People split up and began to search, almost the entire village was involved. It was already cold and dark outside. Residents began to gather and someone suggested releasing the wolf, even though it’s not a dog, but let him try to look for. And so they did. Gray immediately ran into the forest. The villagers split up and continued their search.
Three days later wounded Gray was back, and an exhausted boy was lying next to him. People rushed to him, but suddenly the wolf bared his teeth and began to growl. Then it became clear that he was not letting strangers in. People noticed that there was a trail of dragging from the forest, apparently the wolf was dragging his friend. And judging by the fact that the wolf had broken paws, he fell into a trap. Kolya had been in the hospital for a month, when he returned home he was met by a limping Gray. This story brought them together even more. They became very attached to each other.
