The bride could not contain her emotions when her beloved, who was paralyzed after the accident, got up from a wheelchair.
The last year at school divided the life of Louisiana resident Ryan Estep into before and after. A promising athlete who was going to go to college and dreamed of a career as a professional football player, got into a car accident, as a result of which he remained permanently paralyzed from the waist down. Many plans for life had to be abandoned, but Ryan did not leave the sport and continued to train, and in 2012 even took part in the Paralympic Games in London. He successfully graduated from college, and after that began a career as a motivational speaker and found a job in logistics, which helped him buy his own house.
And soon a new turn took place in the life of a 34-year–old man – he met his love. They were introduced to Chandler Dandy by a mutual friend. The girl did not agree to go on a date with Ryan for a long time, but he persevered and convinced her to meet. After that, the couple began to see each other more often. On the first anniversary of their acquaintance, the man took his beloved on a romantic trip to the mountains, where he proposed to her.
At the beginning of June, a wedding took place, at which the groom amazed the bride by standing up for the first dance. This was made possible thanks to two of Ryan’s friends who tied his paralyzed legs to their own. The men secretly practiced walking as one person for several weeks and were ready to perform a wedding dance.
When Chandler saw her husband get up from his wheelchair with the support of friends, she was speechless. “I couldn’t believe my eyes,” she recalls. “I just wanted to hug him and spin around to the music.” But it never came to the dance. As soon as Chandler’s hands touched Ryan, the whole world stopped for them. The couple stood for a long time, hugging, and could not hold back tears. According to the newlyweds, they will remember their wedding day and the miracle that happened on it forever. Ryan and Chandler have big joint plans – first of all, concerning the replenishment of the family with “a couple of little athletes.” In the meantime, the lovers are enjoying their honeymoon and are happy that Chandler still answered “yes” to numerous requests for a date.
