There is a real Batman who lives in Florida, USA. He is equally brave, purposeful and helpful, but not only to people. Chris Van Dorn is a 27-year-old American who decided to change the life of animals in his native country.
A few years ago he created a charity called Batman4Paws, which translates as “Batman for the Paws”. It helps homeless and shelter animals find loving owners and new homes.
And for several years now, Chris has been successfully helping animals – dogs and cats that roam the streets or live in shelters. Batman performs several functions at once. First of all, he distributes leaflets and explains to everyone how important it is to save animals and take them from the streets and shelters rather than buying them.
Van Dorn usually drives his own old car, a Honda. But with such a car one can travel no more than 1,000 km. So it happens that Batman pilots an airplane, and the funds for flights probably come from the same benefactors.
Chris could go about his business without the image of the superhero, but he has loved Batman comics since early years and always dreamed of becoming like him. But the costume makes it possible to draw attention to the issue of disadvantaged animals and arouse people’s trust. And with every happy new owner of a dog or cat, Van Dorn takes pleasure in taking pictures.
