Why the woman had to prove to be the mom of her own kids

This shocking story happened to the American Lydia Fairchild. After breaking up with her husband, the woman turned to special services to organize assistance in caring for the little ones. At the time of the preparation of the documents, Lydia was carrying her third little one.

In order to receive the benefit, it was necessary to conduct a DNA test, which showed that the woman was not the mother of her older kids. But the paternity of her ex-boyfriend has been confirmed. In desperation, Lydia began to look for similar cases that could shed light on the whole story.

After all, the woman knew for sure that these were her kids. It turned out that such cases have already happened in medicine. Genetics calls it chimerism. Lydia later turned out to have two sets of DNA. Tests have revealed that Fairchild’s hair and skin share the same genetic material, but her internal organs are completely different.

Most likely, Fairchild had a twin sister who, even during embryonic development, merged with her, thereby transmitting her DNA code to her. Based on this amazing story, in 2006, the TV show “My Twin in Me” was filmed.
