A woman uses old men’s shirts to sew dresses for her daughters

The result is amazing!

One mom came up with a brilliant way to use old clothes. She turns her husband’s old shirts into outfits for her young daughters, and the results are as creative as they are adorable.

Stephanie Miller, an art teacher and mom of four from Utah, came up with the idea after her husband brought home a $50 sewing machine from Walmart. “We lived in a small studio apartment, I didn’t have a workshop and the oil paints that I used in my work evaporated a not very healthy aroma. I suffered from postpartum depression, and I found myself only plunging headlong into painting with.”

The sewing machine helped the woman rediscover her creative side, and after learning how to sew dolls, she started watching YouTube videos on how to sew dresses. “Three months ago, my husband was throwing away his old clothes, on top of the pile was a shirt that I gave him for Christmas,” Stephanie said. “I was upset that he wanted to get rid of something with which pleasant memories are associated. I kept this shirt and a few others, hoping to make something out of them.”

Since then, she has created various outfits for herself and her daughters, who love their new exclusive clothes so much!

Friends and neighbors donated their clothes and other fabrics so that Stephanie would have a constant supply of material for work.
