The most unusual Math lesson. A bright example of a devoted professional

During the quarantine period, sometimes amazing things happen.

And with a “plus” sign.

An unusual lesson for 12-year-old Riley Anderson, an American sixth-grader living in the town of Madison (South Dakota), was conducted by her math teacher.

The girl could not master one of the topics in algebra in any way, so she could not do her homework.

Because of the pandemic, Riley, like other schoolchildren, studied remotely, so she wrote to her teacher, Chris Waba, by email about her problem, asking for help.

He answered the girl, but she still had questions.

The sixth-grader thought that the mathematician would continue explaining the topic she did not understand remotely, but soon the doorbell rang.

The surprised student saw Chris standing on the front porch of her house, with a white board next to him.

The teacher lives nearby, so he decided to hold an individual lesson for Riley.

Of course, strictly observing the social distance.

That is, explaining the topic, he stayed on the porch, and the girl stood behind the screen door.

“He really helped me understand everything,” the schoolgirl said in an interview with CNN.

“I’m so grateful that he decided to come.”

The girl’s father posted a photo of this extraordinary individual math lesson on Twitter.

The news spread quickly, the result was thousands of likes and hundreds of retweets.

Waba said that he explains better when he is face to face with his students.

This is better than over the phone, in his opinion, because this is how children learn the material more quickly.

At the end of the lesson, twelve-year-old Riley smiled at the teacher and thanked him.

It became clear to him that the girl understood everything.

“That’s what teachers work for: for the sake of such smiles,” said Waba
