It was in Colorado forests, in 2019 that people spotted this deer with a tire – ‘’ necklace’’. However, it turned out to be extremely difficult to track and catch the animal. He was afraid of any interaction with people and immediately ran away as soon as they tried to help him.
Not long ago, a local resident again saw the deer in the vicinity and contacted the CPW animal rescue center. His staff immediately reacted and began to draw up a plan to release the animal.
Two employees eventually managed to find the deer. Using a dart with sleeping pills, they temporarily put the deer to sleep for safety reasons and began to remove the tire. They used a special saw and they finally succeeded!
The deer got rid of up to 10 kg of weight, with which he lived all these 2 years. Fortunately, the tire did not cause any harm to the deer – it only had a little worn hair on its neck. The other parts of the body of the deer were fine.
Later, he woke up and went about his business – probably, at first, not understanding where his “necklace” had gone. Thank you, kind people for saving him!
